The Paul Rudolph Foundation is excited to share the festivities in celebration of Paul Rudolph’s 100th Birthday!
Thursday, October 25th the PRF hosted a fundraiser–all the proceeds of which will be used to digitize more material from the Library of Congress holdings to further scholarship of Mr. Rudolph’s work.
Friday, October 26th the PRF hosted a day-long symposium with the Library of Congress. Admission was free, but reservations were required.
The Schedule for the Symposium in honor of Paul Rudolph’s Centennial was as follows:
8:30 am Security and Check-In
9:00 am Welcome Remarks
9:15 am Library of Congress C. Ford Peatross, founding director of the Library of Congress Center for Architecture, Design and Engineering and Tim Rohan, Author, and faculty of UMASS Amherst will discuss his use of the Rudolph collection.
10:00 am Paul Rudolph Foundation Sean Khorsandi and Dan Webre of the Paul Rudolph Foundation will discuss the role of the Foundation and share recent research on Paul Rudolph.
10:45 am Coffee Break
11:00 am Keynote Robert A.M. Stern, Former Dean of the Yale School of Architecture will discuss the life and work of Paul Rudolph from his perspective as one of Paul Rudolph’s former students.
12 noon Lunch
1:15 pm Practitioners Andy Bernheimer, Principal of Bernheimer Architecture, Toshiko Mori, Founder of NY-based Toshiko Mori Architect and Vision Arc, and Steven Harris, Founder of Steven Harris Architects LLP will discuss their respective work responding to and intervening into Paul Rudolph residential projects. Robert Bruegmann, Professor of Art History, Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Illinois at Chicago will moderate.
2:15 pm Assessment Kurt Forster, Director of Doctoral Studies and Professor Emeritus at the Yale School of Architecture will discuss Rudolph’s standing in architectural history and his legacy today.

Additionally, from 2002 until 2013, the Foundation held bi-monthly open houses as well as other events at our former location, the Modulightor Building on 58th Street in Manhattan.
